Dacon Rescue Scoop

The Dacon Rescue Scoop is a semi-rigid, manoeuvrable rescue net operated by a standard deck crane. The rescue net is used to recover people in distress from the water when weather or other factors make it difficult or too risky to launch a rescue craft.

The Dacon Rescue Scoop will successfully recover a person from the water, without putting other crew members at risk. Further on, the power- assisted method of recovery will retrieve a person in a horizontal position with full body support to avoid further injury or shock, which is a very important factor that needs to be emphasized.

The crane operated system requires no interaction from the person involved in the rescue operation. Hence, the system is fully capable of rescuing a severely injured or even unconscious person. The rescue net is easy to manoeuvre and is operated by a standard deck crane.

Dacon Rescue Scoop has been used on vessels in the offshore industry for almost 40 years and is available in a wide range of models. The rescue net has a lifelong expectancy and a five-year guarantee.

If you want to know more or need advice on which model is suitable for your vessel, please contact us.

Dacon Rescue Frame

Pulling a person out of the water is such a difficult task, if not seemingly impossible. Rough weather conditions and possible bodily injuries might make it extremely hard to succeed. Using a rescue frame to do the recovery enables the crew to manually bring the person into the rescue craft safely for both crew and the MOB.

With a Dacon Rescue Frame, the crew can easily unfold the rescue net and shape it into a cradle. This way, the person in distress lies in a horizontal position, which provides full support of the body and prevents further injuries.

The rescue frame has a robust and solid design and requires minimum space on deck. It can also be used as a scrambling net for the man overboard to climb to safety.

Dacon Scrambling Net

The Dacon Scrambling Net is a rigid and robust net that enables a person to climb onboard in a safe manner. The solid net has a non-slip surface which prevents the person in the water from losing grip.

The net meets all the requirements for use by standby and emergency response vessels and is used by rescue vessels worldwide. It’s easy to unfold, and when rolled up into the vessel, it takes up minimal space.

The net usually is 1,5-2,5 meters wide and 1,5 meter long below the surface but can be customized according to your needs.

Dacon Rescue Basket

Our Rescue Basket has been used on several ships for over 30 years – i.e. on Rescue Vessels, Navy Ships, Commercial Vessels, Offshore Support Vessels and Commercial Vessels.

The rescue basket is made of a robust aluminium construction with soft padding, making it durable and suitable for all weather conditions. When in water, this recovery device has a low floating position, making it easier for people to get inside.

The basket comes in three different models with capacity for 4-8 people. For more information about which model might suit your needs, please contact us.

Dacon Rescue Dummy

Water rescue training is essential for anyone working in the maritime industry. Dacon is a leading manufacturer of realistic and high-quality rescue dummies used in preparation for an emergency. Our Rescue Dummy can float in either a vertical or horizontal position. It is also available with a negative buoyancy for underwater training.

The rescue dummy has realistic limbs, height (190 cm) and weight (up to 85 kg) and is highly resistant and robust. It’s designed to survive a drop from a tall ship or even from a helicopter. This makes the manikin ideal for Search and Recovery training and recovery drills.

Dacon Rescue Frame

One of our most popular recovery devices is the Dacon Rescue Frame. This is a manual rescue net that is formed into a cradle, to save a distressed person from the water in a safe and easy way.

The Rescue Frame has several advantages that makes it the ideal choice for professionals in the maritime industry:

  • Extremely durable and robust
  • Safe, horizontal recovery
  • Has been used for over 40 years in the maritime industry
  • Life long expectancy
  • Requires minimum space
  • Intuitive and easy to use

How the Rescue Cradle Works

When deployed, the Rescue Frame hangs down on the vessel’s side, forming a cradle in the water. The floating person is positioned horizontally in the cradle and gently brought on board by the crew pulling the rescue frame or retrieval lines.

The horizontal position of the casualty ensures full body support to avoid any further injury. This method of recovery ensures that both the crew and the person in the water stays safe during the rescue operation. The Rescue Frame is attached to the boat`s railing, which makes it easy for the crew to form the correct shape.

Design and Material

Dacon Rescue Frame is designed particularly to withstand extreme weather conditions and to last for years. The outer bar is equipped with pebble buoys, a maneuvering stick and hand-loops to hold on to.

The rescue net is lightweight yet compact, which makes it very durable and easy to handle. The net takes up very little deck space when rolled up and stored.

Just like our other MOB rescue net products, the Rescue Frame is approved by DNV GL, which is the world’s leading classification within the maritime industry.

The recovery device is being used on many different types of vessels around the world, such as MOB boats, SAR boats and rescue crafts.

Size and Weight

Our Rescue Frame is available in several different sizes that fit freeboards from 0,5 – 4 meters. The standard horizontal length is 180 centimeters, but it is also available in other dimensions. The weight of the Rescue Frame is 3 kg per square meter.
